2. Mustard, Mud, and Music Festival

Why Go: Over 24 wineries will be pouring, live jazz will fill the streets, and the whole weekend's filled with marvelous deals in Calistoga restaurants up and down Lincoln Avenue. The music's free and good.

3. Mardi Gras Weekend Celebration

Why Go: Black Stallion's pouring some new wines, including the Bucephalus Red Blend, and serving up the Big Easy's ritual Jambalaya -- just in time for Mardi Gras. Make the good eating count before Lent arrives!

4. A Dragon is in the Valley Book Release Party

Why Go: Join A Dragon is in the Valley author Dr. Lee Block and Arts Council Napa Valley as they celebrate the publication of Block's personal memoirs about the development of the Napa Wine Train! Block is one of the original founders of the beloved railway. All book sales will go to benefit .

5. Cochon 555 Tasting (Say what? Think pork).

Where/When: The Culinary Institute of America 2555 Main St., St. Helena
Sunday, March 6, 2011, 5 – 8 p.m.

Why Go: A group of chefs (including Curtis de Fede and Tyler Rodde of Oenetri) will each prepare pork in a true Napa chef-off competition. Guests and local judges will choose a winner at the end of the night, and everyone gets to sample some wine alongside some delicious food. COCHON 555 is a tribute to "heritage, chefs and winemakers."
