Fatality Reported in Sunday Afternoon's Collision on Hwys 12 & 121 in Napa County
Both directions of state Highway 121 and state Highway 12 in Napa County have reopened almost three hours after a fatal vehicle collision this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at about 3:30 p.m. on state Highway 121 and state Highway 12 near the intersection with Duhig Road in the vicinity of numerous wineries, CHP officers said.
At least one person was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center and succumbed to their injuries, according to the CHP.
A Sigalert was issued shortly after 4 p.m. CHP canceled the Sigalert and reopened the roadway at about 6:45 p.m.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation and the name of the deceased person has not been released, the CHP said.
This fatality is the fourth death reported on area roads over the weekend:
- 2 Teens Killed, 3 Injured in Rollover Crash Saturday in Vacaville; Alcohol Possibly Involved. The teens reportedly left Lake Berryessa in Napa County enroute to Vacaville, and were all ejected from the vehicle in the accident.
