1 DUI Arrest, 2 Unlicensed Motorists Stopped at July 3 DUI Checkpoint on Trancas St.

News from the Napa Police Department:

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers conducted a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint on July 3 as part of the "AVOID the 9," which is a grant funded by OTS.

Twelve officers and one CSO worked this operation from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight.

During the operation, 1,581 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which was in the 900 block of Trancas Street in the City of Napa, resulting in nine drivers being evaluated for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 

Subsequently, one of these drivers was arrested for DUI.  Additionally, two motorists were driving with suspended licenses and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
