Plant-based Around the World Potluck

Nearly every culture on the planet developed with at least a few traditional, plant-based dishes.  You may be familiar with Thai noodles, Chinese stir-fries, California-style salads, Jamaican jerk rice, Latin beans, calabacitas from Mexico...  What other cultures might include delicious, plant-centered dishes that we have not yet met?  (Hint: it's NOT just our local Adventists!  If you look closely at your own ancestry, I'd love to know what vegetable dishes you'll find.)

On Friday night, March 14th, join us for an opportunity to learn about a variety of cultures and their cuisines, and to share a little of what you know, too!  Each person is asked to bring a completely plant-based (vegan) dish, enough to serve about 6-8 portions.  You will have a few minutes to tell us about the culture or place where the dish is traditional, then we will eat.  But don't be intimidated - Vital Veg can help with the recipe or the talking, if you like!  Culinary students, chefs, children, and anyone with an interest in cultures, traditions, health, and eating plants, is encouraged to attend!

All the details and registration are at http://plantworldpotluck.eventbrite.com or by calling Kerri at 503-421-8834.
