Elizabeth Stokkebye is a writer and an artist who lives and works in Calistoga. Her heritage is Danish and her BA and MA degrees from UC Berkeley and University of Washington, respectively, are both in Scandinavian Languages and Literature. Currently, she works as a translator, DA-EN-DA, besides working on her own projects of painting and writing. Her artistic focus is on identity, heritage and memories, and she is writing a story on her paternal grandmother whose influential spirit demands to be expressed. She has recently finished a painting series of four representing Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales.
