Owners Joel and Duncan Gott, along with executive chef Rich Robinson, have created a menu based on a philosophy focused on the environment, business approach and taste. They use only naturally-raised, hormone-free meats and non-endangered fish that is delivered daily. The Gotts also invest in renewable and compostable packaging and work to promote a culture of sustainability.
Favorites include the bacon cheeseburger paired with Napa Cellars Pinot Noir (the combination may surprise the palate, but it goes down nicely) and the Chinese Chicken salad--chicken dressed in Ponzy, fresh ginger, shredded cabbage, crunchy noodles and toasted sesame seeds tossed in spicy Asian vinaigrette inside a crispy shell--refreshingly paired with Bandit '08 Pinot Grigio. Another standout is the Ahi Burger. Named one of the 25 Best Burgers in the U.S. by Food & Wine magazine, the burger is 5 ounces of fresh tuna seared with ginger wasabi mayo and Asian slaw served on a toasted egg bun.
Menu selections such as the Poke Tacos, crispy taco shells filled with marinated raw tuna, green cabbage, avocado, cilantro and spicy mayo, and the California chicken sandwich, topped with jack cheese, guacamole, red onion and mayo served on an egg bun, are exemplary of Gott’s new direction of lighter fare. Many of the fresh, artisanal ingredients used in their menu are harvested from the Gotts' own organic garden in St. Helena.
