Third year as a music venue. I practically grew up with the movies in that theater.

I love myself some Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, but curious if I remember right they opened the Uptown and…Read More also played at least one anniversary show. Are they the owner favorites, or had they asked to be involved?
Either way I don't mind.

Haven't seen it yet, but now I'm a little runied, but just a little. Corredt me if I'm wrong, but…Read More when did Star fleet have ships that could go to the edge of the galaxy? (And I'm not one of those 'ST geeks' that searches for a problem while they are living in their mother's basements. Did not know about Leonard Nimoy either. Remember I am nt one of thsoe 'ST geeks' that searches the InterNet for all the runmors about the movie franchise.

This is obviously a first-hand report and not just your biased opinion, right ?

For an inaugural run of a festival like this, I feel like they did a nice job getting some pretty…Read More solid talent to commit. Success breeds success so if the festival continues to do well in future years, you'd probably expect the talent level to continue getting better as well.

Maybe somebody could actually source the data for how much money the average Napan is supposed to…Read More make, or how much the city, and state for that matter, paid to hold it. I made the best of it here on Juarez and for the most part enjoyed. However that does not give me the right to sit in judgement of my neighbors who had every right to be bothered. The argument that people knew what they were getting into is about the stupidest I can imagine. It takes all responsibility of the organizers and city since they can know claim Oxbow and Alta residents knew that we can do anything to them in terms of noise and crowds because they signed up for whatever we throw in their faces. What is even more amazing is that those who don't want government interfering with their private property are on the governments side on this

When did it become ok to charge $150 for a day-pass that doesn't include food&drinks? Anyone who…Read More went to this got royally suckered.

Bottle Rock Was not setup to bring Guests Downtown. Downtown Merchants have no room to complain…Read More other than there association did nothing to embrace the event or promote Downtown to the event attendance. Perhaps the event can be held Downtown next year should it return.
Unfiltered Steve Simoneau May 12, 2013 at 01:15 pm
Belle is correct, downtown has been eerily empty in the evening during the concert.
I have been…Read More downtown a few times out of curiosity and while street parking was nearly non-existant the businesses I went into were about the same as any evening during mid-week.
I had the impression that downtown would be a nightmare to navigate during this event but I was wrong. Go check it out.

I'm not sure what part of downtown ya'll were in. Downtown was crazy packed Friday and Saturday…Read More night. Fire-Marshals were around making sure businesses were watching the capacity numbers, if you were way over, you were shut down. ABC and under-covers were out as well, making sure minors weren't drinking. I saw one establishment shut down Thursday and Saturday for that (they should watch that one place more often!).
Where I was working, we had a lines out the door, for people waiting to get in. Busiest I had ever seen the establishment at night!
Biggest concern/complaint I heard from out-of-towners from the event - no place to eat after 10p. Most restaurants stop serving at 9p. Maybe next year, they should have an area with food trucks to be between 9p and 11p. Another good area, if they wanted to participate - First Street with the Oxbow and their eateries.

Does anyone know if there is a coat check / lockers for rent inside Bottlerock?

Just got back from locals night
It's well organized and the stages are awesome. If you like the acts…Read More its a winner, but they were too middle of the road for my tastes.
When I think rock, I need rock, not pop.

Diane. What I saw, I saw. I saw a 5year old girl holding a card-board sign for parking on private…Read More property, not intentional? I saw a man in an orange vest directing cars into a business parking, not intentional? I even saw vehicles in the $100 parking. It's a scare tactic, yet, still collect the money if you can afford it? May the rich jingle their bracelets in the front crowd.
MICHAEL P. WILSON May 10, 2013 at 12:54 pm
A $100 Bucks is not bad to park for 4 days. It would be $200 for local parking if this event was…Read More held at crissy field in SF.
Richard Cocks May 8, 2013 at 07:58 pm
Is there going to be any food included? I've been fasting for a few days, I sure could go for some…Read More chow! Hopefully it's on the house!

I love Carlos Santana. I had the honor to be at one of his concerts over-seas. It was amazing.

Nice try at a press release published as a news story. But if the Press Democrat reporter had done…Read More even a cursory search of the promotion company,WillPowerLLC, they would have found that this limited liability company is related to Joe Peatman. And-in terms of making things happen-Joe Peatman.essentially means Joe Peatman Sr. And it's no secret that Joe Peatman (the daddy) and Gabe Myers' father David Myers, are both affiliated with the law firm Dickenson,Peatman and Fogarty,
Given that it takes both money and connections to make a concert like this happen,my guess is that it's daddy's money and connections that are behind this "Field of Dreams" event. Only, given the reputation of said principals in the law firm, (Joe Peatman, retired) and David Myers (active), I would label this probably more of a probable "Field of Schemes" rather than "Field of Dreams."
Regardless, we the citizens need to see a contract that states just what the liability requirements (bonds, insurance, etc.) are for the promoters, whether they have met those requirements and if there were any exceptions made by the CA state fair board in exempting the promoters from any standard contractual liability obligations when they agreed to this event. That's all.

I agree. Too many restrictions. They tell you to bring your credit card and a 6x6 blanket. Or buy…Read More their chairs. But the don't tell u the price. Bottle Rock remorse

Buckhorn's has a cheese steak sandwich, not as good as in the Philly area.

And on another Thursday scheduling note, this just in from the Furthur FB page:
Due to unforeseen…Read More circumstances, Furthur regretfully will be unable to appear as scheduled at BottleRock Napa Valley on Thursday, May 9. Grateful Dead & Furthur Co-Founder Bob Weir is unable to perform in any capacity for the next several weeks.

Did you pay the city? Did you even get out and clean up you're mess? You are soo entitled.
Tim T. May 1, 2013 at 10:39 am
Ann, apology for what? Pay for what? It was chalk. If she had been told not to do it, she would…Read More have stopped and cleaned it up. The officer told her it was fine initially, until someone who probably didn't like the message higher up told the officer to hassle her. The problem wasn't the chalk with the officer, it's that they wanted to her to provide ID and detain her without any charges or reason. Amy spent 24 hrs in jail over this - that's ridiculous. And the city figured it out too, since they dropped all charges. It's an old story, but you don't have the facts.
What's Playing at the Napa Valley Movie Theaters?
