Napa Bike Fest Photos: Were You There?

A fun new festival for all ages made its debut Saturday at Copia.

I can't : Here's a five-star, flag-waving shout-out to the folks who brought us the first-ever  Saturday at what remains of .

On a glorious Saturday, cyclists and strollers of all ages enjoyed live music, a swap meet, group rides — including one for kids — wonderfully weird bike-inspired sculptures by Kurt Wold and a series of cycling-themed films.

Along with all the activity, you could buy food, beer, wine and coffee and refill your reusable water bottle at a free water station.

Thank you to all the volunteers of the , a.k.a. , for putting together such a terrific day for Napans!

County supervisors and were both spotted at the festival, and there was another bonus for political observers: Master of ceremonies Mark Lucas, an member who helps run both Napa Bike and the returning music festival (July 29, 2012), revealed during the day that he also wants to run for mayor.

(Or would that be "ride for mayor?")

Absolutely! Napa Bike and the Bike Fest committee had SO much fun putting this event on. It was great seeing the Napa cycling community come together for the first time ever. Any suggestions for next year?
