Free School Supplies for Napa Foster Kids

The Foster and Kinship Care Education program at Napa Valley College invites foster children and their parents to select back-to-school supplies free of charge this Thursday and Friday at the Napa County Office of Education.

Students aged 4 through college, who are in formal placement (or for college students, were in placement, and are under AB12):

Come to the Napa County Office of Education, Conference Room D, for our School Supplies Market. Students may select any supplies that they need, free of charge, to use for the upcoming school year.

No reservation or advance call necessary, just show up! (We do not have backpacks this year.)

This flyer is also being mailed to each family who has children in Napa County Schools. Feel free to share with other foster parents.

Be sure to thank Jeannie Puhger and the other staff at NCOE any time you can. Flyer is attached.

WHO IS FKCE? Glad you asked, we love to tell our story - - -

* FKCE is the only training program for licensed foster parents. All training discussing new regulations and mandates (legislated by the elected leadership) must be written into curriculum and taught to each licensed family home.
* Every adoptive parent must be trained & licensed first as a foster parent and much later might become the adoptive parent.
* FKCE has been involved with Napa College for at least 30 years and this is the first time the program has been housed on the campus. It is great to be part of the College, we look forward to meeting you over the coming years.
* FKCE is funded directly by the Chancellor's Office and reports to same for all activity, training hours and logistics.
* Napa Valley College provides over-sight and administrative services through the supervising Dean Kate Benscoter, Human Resources and more.
