Coming home to Napa

On my now more infrequent trips to Napa from my home in eastern Contra Costa County, the changes, especially where I grew up in Coombsville.  I have resigned myself to the fact that we could not afford to live in Napa if we wanted to again. Now and again, just for the heck of it, I look at home and acreage prices in Napa.  Where I grew up, it's now surrounded by million dollar + properties, including the land for homes and vineyards.  Did I say vineyards? Nah, not in Napa County!  I left Napa for good in late 1979. I was 25 and ready to seek my fame and fortune elsewhere. I'm still looking for both.
Coombsville has changed quite a bit.  Many of the things I grew up with are still there.  Mt. George Elementary School is still at the corner of Coombsville Road and Second Avenue.  The building that housed the Third Avenue Market is still there, but it hasn't been a market for probably close to 40 years. I recall it housed a vet's office up until about five years ago.
The aforementioned Mt. George is the same two buildings, plus one portable.  (Me thinx the portable may have been the same one I had my US History class at Napa High in 11th grade.)
I forget who said "You can't go home again." I disagree; You can go home again, but don't expect it to be the same.
