Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants Both Postseason Bound

Athletics' 12-5 victory today over the Rangers means both teams are division champions. Will Bay Area baseball make headlines this fall with a rare Bay Bridge Series?

The Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants are both into the Major League Baseball playoffs as division champions, following the 12-5 drubbing the A's laid on their rival, the Texas Rangers.

The A’s clinched the A.L. West Division crown with a victory today, and will travel to Detroit and play the Tigers Saturday and Sunday. The Giants will host the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday and Sunday.

Many Bay Area baseball fans think there could be another Bay Bridge series, as was the case in 1989 when the A’s swept the Giants in four games in what was known as the “earthquake series” for the Loma Prieta earthquake.

Do you think another Bay Bridge series could happen? With both teams looking good, it’s certainly not out of the equation.

How many A’s and Giants fans are out there? Who’s ready for the postseason and which A’s fans are ready for TODAY? Send us your pictures! Peter Fournier will be at today’s A’s game and will send photos when possible.
