BBQ "Battle" Raises $10,000 for Music in Napa Schools

Pat Burke beat Stephen Barber in the third annual cook-off to benefit music programs for students in Napa's public schools, according to a Napa Valley Register report on Sunday's Napa Valley BBQ and Beer Battle at the Marriott.

 

Congratulations to Pat Burke of Napa, who for the third year running vanquished the competition in a fund-raising barbecue cook-off to benefit local schoolchildren.

The reports that Burke, a longtime barbecue competitor who works at Judd's Hill Winery, beat restaurant chef in a taste test judged by ticketholders to the event held Sunday afternoon at the .

Sponsored by the nonprofit , the "BBQ and Beer Battle" raised $10,000 to benefit the Music Connection, which makes musical instruments and music education avalailable to underprivileged children in local public schools, according to the Register report.
