Run for your Life! at the Tug McGraw Foundation’s inaugural 5k Fun Run, Walk and High Heel Dash on Saturday, October 27, 2012 in downtown Yountville, Napa Valley, CA. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tug McGraw Foundation and its efforts on behalf of brain tumor research and awareness and improving the lives of military service members who have been affected by Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
Come as a group, come solo, just don’t come as yourself as the Foundation celebrates the Halloween weekend and encourages costumes in this fun run through the streets of Yountville in the heart of the Napa Valley. Run, walk and dash past some of the country’s most celebrated wineries and restaurants to scare up some support for the Tug McGraw Foundation.
The event kicks off at 4:30 with a kids costume dash, followed by the crazy high heel dash - not limited to women, after all it is a Halloween celebration! The High Heel Dash winner will win a fabulous pair of high heel shoes donated by GRAMMY® Award-winning country artist Faith Hill. Following that potentially crippling madness, the gun will go off at 5:30pm where charitable souls will run or walk along the charming streets of Yountville for 3.1 miles of people-watching, where you might even run into the ghost of Yountville founder George C. Yount…so much fun, you’ll forget you’re running!
Immediately after the run/walk, this costumed free-for-all becomes a Halloween after party for the whole family. Enjoy food, drinks, wine and beer to quench that well-deserved thirst. Indulge the child within - dress up, visit each booth and pick up some treats. Sport your best (but leave the pooch at home, no pets, sorry!). There are costume contests to win, and prizes include an iPad, tickets to sporting events, tickets to a 2013 Tim McGraw show and much more.
Then, if the spirit moves you, take the costumed gang out to dinner at one of Yountville’s celebrated eateries to complete your day. Don't miss out on the most visually delightful, and possibly visually disturbing charitable running event of the year!
Entry fees begin at $35 for individuals and $100 for groups up to four, and the after party only is $20 per person.
