Public Invited to TEDxNapaValley Webcast Dec. 5

Webcast in Napa is of TEDWomen 2013.

TEDxNapaValley (www.tedxnapavalley.org)  invites the community to join them for a free, independently organized event allowing locals to take part and share in TEDWomen 2013 through the use of streaming video.

This free event provides those who have never watched a TEDTalk or been to a TEDx event an opportunity to get a better understanding of the conference format.

Held open house-style, the local webcast will take place from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the studio of ToutSuite Social Club located at 68 Coombs St., L5, Napa, directly under the silver water tower inside the old Sawyer Tannery complex.

All attendees will be able to watch several of the talks given just hours earlier at TEDWomen 2013 in San Francisco.

At 8 p.m., TEDxNapaValley will host a follow up discussion live on ToutSuite’s social media platform www.toutsuite.com to provide everyone with the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts about TEDWomen 2013.

Guests are asked to RSVP for the free event so that TEDxNapaValley may obtain a head count at http://tedwomen-2013-napa.eventbrite.com/.  Refreshments and small bites will be provided.

“Only a limited number of tickets to TEDWomen are available each year and are granted at the discretion of the TED team," said TEDxNapaValley Co-Curator Sandina Bailo.

"The ticket price to attend TEDWomen is usually over $900, so we are pleased to be able to offer the community the opportunity to experience this event free of charge,”

In San Francisco for the first time, TEDWomen 2013 will channel the bootstrap spirit of Silicon Valley to celebrate invention in all its forms.

Not just technology and things, but also solutions to poverty; approaches to peacemaking; expressions of art, and, at times, our own lives.

More than 150 TEDx events around the world will take part, including the TEDxNapaValley event, sharing talks around the theme "Invented Here”-- celebrating inventors and designers; thinkers and makers; local problem-solvers and global leaders.

Co-founded and run by CEO Susan Quinn, ToutSuite Social Club is a great local example of “Invented Here”, making it a fitting location and platform for this TEDxNapaValley event.
