Napa Valley Bike Tours Rolls to New Location

Bike tour & rental business to occupy former medical offices at 6500 Washington St., Yountville.

Napa Valley Bike Tours is set to roll its headquarters down the street this week to a new home at 6500 Washington Street in Yountville.

The new location, between Bistro Jeanty and Ranch Market Too, is just a half-mile from their most recent location inside the Washington Square business complex at 6795 Washington St., Yountville.

The decision to move was prompted by a 30-year lease opportunity in the 2200-square-foot space that was formerly occupied by the Yountville Medical Clinic.

“Yountville will always be an important location for our business,” says Owner Brad Dropping, “With more than 40 wineries within five miles, Yountville is an ideal location to start a bike ride to the wineries.

"Ninety-five percent of our guests are casual-minded tourists looking for a fun and engaging way to tour wine country and visit local wineries,” he said.

Transitioning the building from its former use as a medical office to a space that could accommodate the unique needs of a bike tour and rental outfit took a bit of doing.

To that end, Dropping rolled up his own sleeves and got to work, completing the renovation in just three weeks.

Dropping also tapped local Napa Interior Designer Indra Fortney to help make key decisions about color, lighting and retail fixtures. The new space will feature an industrial aesthetic with cement floors, exposed duct work and galvanized steel accents.

With a history of operations in the Napa Valley since 1987, Napa Valley Bike Tours offers wine country visitors a wide array of guided and self-guided bike tour options, bike rentals and concierge services to assist guests with their vacation planning.

Many touring options include wine-purchase pickup service, so guests can purchase wine throughout the day with the knowledge it will be waiting for them back in Yountville at the end of their ride.

Napa Valley Bike Tours also caters to local residents by offering bicycle repair services and used bike sales.

Each year starting in November, the company sells its entire fleet of Specialized brand rental bikes including Sirrus and Vita model hybrids, carbon-fiber Roubaix and Ruby model road bikes and Rockhopper 29er mountain bikes to make room for next year's models.

And while local residents appreciate getting a deal on a gently used bike, Napa Valley Bike Tours’ guests reap the benefit of riding brand new bikes every year.

Napa Valley Bike Tours opens for business at 6500 Washington St. on Friday, Nov.29.

Business hours will remain the same: Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
