Toy Library Adds Saturday Hours

Normally open weekdays only, the popular Toy Library and Early Learning Center welcomes families on five selected Saturdays from January through May.

Here's some good news for parents, early-childhood educators and caregivers in the Napa Valley: The popular at is adding extra hours this winter and spring, according to an announcement from the north Napa nonprofit's Jennifer Dobbs.

Normally open weekdays only, the Toy Library will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the following five Saturdays:

Jan. 21

Feb. 4

March 3

March 31

May 26

At the Toy Library, families can spend time in the sunny playroom or check out toys for up to a month at a time.

Borrowing age-appropriate playthings from the library saves parents and caregivers money, and also helps with child development, according to a video on the Community Resources for Children YouTube channel.

During the workweek, the center at 3299 Claremont Avenue offers other family services, including:

Assistance with child care for working parents to remain employed or in training or school;

Free child care referrals and information for early care and education of children in Napa County. Referral may include subsidized child care.

Community Resources for Children was established in 1978.
