Shout Outs for Napa Grads: Congratulations!

Our weekly Community Shout Outs column is for sharing good news, and what could be better news than Napa's graduating students? This is the big week for many; share your celebratory photos, videos and thoughts here!

Congratulations, graduates!

If I had a list of all your names I'd print it here.

But since I don't, let's open these Community Shout Outs to all the proud parents, grandparents, teachers, friends and grads themselves who want to share some thoughts, pictures and/or videos with your neighbors here on Napa Patch.

To get things started:

Betty Malmgren, director of the Community Relations Office at , took a great photo of Jennifer Nichols, who has been active with ASNVC and provided leadership for the college’s community garden/ natural resources farm, holding her diploma.

And I snapped some shots of seniors presenting their senior projects to a panel on which I was privileged to be a member earlier this month.

These young men impressed me with their project choices, which were intended to stretch their abilities: James Thorne designed and built a traditional wooden drum, Mirsha Torres learned parkour (an urban running and gymnastics practice brought to the big screen in Casino Royale with Daniel Craig) and and Nicholas Hoffnagle worked with a sitcom writer to create his own joke book.

I congratulate them all, as well as my own New Tech "mentee" Cameron Busquaert and David Sornberger of , both of whom were kind enough to seek me out for assistance in their senior projects involving original blogging.

Now it's your turn: Celebrate your graduates with a tribute here on Napa Patch! Have your say in the comments and upload photos and videos with captions, too.

Do you have something to tell the community right away? Announce it on Napa Patch! Your announcement appears immediately on our site and gets a slot in the next day's newsletter. Add your announcements quickly and for free at napa.patch.com/announcements/new.
