Blue Oak Boys Defeat St. A's for Volleyball Title

On Saturday in north Napa, Blue Oak School's sixth grade boys defeated St. Apollinaris Catholic School's sixth grade boys' team to win the North Bay Catholic School League's Sixth Grade Boys Volleyball Championship.

Blue Oak School's sixth-grade boys took home the North Bay Catholic School League's Sixth Grade Boys Volleyball Championship on Saturday in front of a standing-room-only crowd at St. Apollinaris Catholic School, according to an announcement from Blue Oak School parent Ali Shull.

They not only won the NBCSL championship, but also finished the sixth grade season in first place, Shull said.

On Saturday, Blue Oak's sixth grade boys defeated St. Apollinaris Catholic School's sixth grade boys' team for the title. St. Apollinaris made it to the Championship game by handing St. Eugene's Catholic School a loss in the semifinal, Shull said.

Coached by Paige Pahlmeyer, the Blue Oak boys battled back from losing the first game to St. A's to win the second game and then the championship-deciding third game, Shull said. 

Team members are Victor Aguilar, Nathan Becker, Xavier Cardoza, Jackson Florsheim, Raphy Genty, Julian Martin, J. Pahlmeyer, Will Shull, Thomas Zelanzny.
