Ulta Beauty Superstore Comes to Napa

The latest business to arrive at the Napa Crossing development at California Boulevard and Trancas Street is preparing to open this week: Ulta Beauty, a Sephora-like high-end cosmetic and salon superstore chain that is expanding into the North Bay.

The fast-growing Ulta Beauty superstore chain is opening in Napa later this week, according to a notice on the door of the store in the newly-built Napa Crossing shopping center at California Boulevard and Trancas Street.

According to a report in the San Francisco Business Times, "The high-end cosmetic and salon shop will open four locations — in Alameda, Colma, Napa and Petaluma as part of its larger goal to open 100 stores by the end of the year."

Listed as "coming soon" on the Ulta.com website, the Napa store will open Friday, according to a notice posted on the door Oct. 20.

Its location is given on the website as Napa Crossing at Olivieri Corner, where California Boulevard and California Way diverge. Next door, a Panera Bread is hiring for its opening later this fall.

Established in 1990 as a discounter, the Illinois-based Ulta Beauty chain is publicly held and operates almost 500 retail stores, according to Ulta.com.
