Copperfield's Books Reopens in Bel Aire Plaza

Napa's only bookstore was briefly closed this week as Copperfield's completed its move across the Bel Aire Plaza parking lot to its new spot next door to Whole Foods Market.

Friday was the long-awaited day for Copperfield's Books to reopen in its new Bel Aire Plaza location, freeing up the cavernous former bookstore for its next incarnation as a Pier One Imports. Copperfield's had closed earlier in the week to complete the move.

Now located next door to Whole Foods, Copperfield's faces west instead of south, but in other ways remains the same establishment Napa book and magazine buyers have known for years, with new releases, classics and deeply discounted stock alongside greeting cards and gifts.

Along with its well-established tradition of in-store author events, Copperfields is also partnering with its new neighbor and other Napa Valley food businesses in a series of cooking demonstrations/book signings by notable cookbook authors.

The next "Copperfields Cooks" event takes place at Bouchon Bakery in Yountville, where chef Thomas Keller promotes his new Bouchon Bakery cookbook Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m.; more information at http://www.copperfieldsbooks.com/copperfields-cooks

At the Napa store, a panel of Napa Valley children's authors will discuss the subject Learn to Write Books for Kids! Sunday at 2 p.m.

Copperfield's is open Monday-Saturday: 10am-9pm and Sunday: 10am-7pm; (707) 252-8002.
