Today -- Monday -- is the last day Napa Recycling & Waste Services is offering free tire recycling for NRWS customers.
NWRS partnered with the City and County of Napa to provide the amnesty period through March 31 with coupons mailed to NRWS customers that allowed the legal transport of up to 19 tires for free recycling.
There is usually a charge of $5 per tire.
Proper recycling prevents waste tires from becoming breeding grounds for mosquitoes or fire hazards.
Users can take their coupon and tires to the Napa Recycling & Composting Facility at 820 Levitin Way in American Canyon between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
