The "Dead" Walk at Napa's "Zombie Flu" Clinic

Napa County's Zombie Flu Clinic and Halloween Health Fair aimed to raise awareness, vaccinate the public and help you avoid that "walking dead" flu feeling.

While these zombies might not be technically "dead," anyone who's had the flu can tell you you don't exactly feel your best– and that's just what they intend to prevent.

Volunteers at the first annual Zombie Flu Clinic and Halloween Health Fair provided health information, flu vaccinations and a spooky good time to a crowd expected to number in the hundreds Wednesday at the Napa County Public Health building.

"We borrowed the idea from the CDC," said Cara Mae McGarry, a health educator with Health and Human Services. She explained that the zombie theme was a fun and entertaining way to engage people about the simple, but important ways to prevent illness and promote better health.
