Residents Comment on Downtown Plan

What do Napans want to see downtown? It's all here in the "comments matrix."

Change one-way streets to two-way? Sure.

More downtown street closures? Nope.

Replace stoplights with stop signs on First Street? Maybe.

The “comments matrix” for the is a long list of suggestions and requests from Napa residents who want to have their say on the future of downtown.

Each listing is marked with an “X” for Yes, No or Maybe, with accompanying notes in many cases.

For example, the request for stop signs instead of traffic signals on First Street is marked "Maybe" with the note, "to be evaluated at implementation stage."

Suggestions to raise intersections, for visibility, and add "radar signs" are marked "No" with the terse note "not recommended."

Improved bicycle, pedestrian and watercraft access are all slam-dunk Yes's, according to the matrix.
