Register to Vote by Monday: Deadline is Midnight

If you want to vote in the Nov. 6, 2012 general election, the deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 22. You can register at the Napa County elections office during business hours, online or by post until midnight.

The deadline to register to vote in order to cast a ballot in the Nov. 6 general election is Monday, Oct. 22.

Applications submitted online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov prior to midnight Monday will be honored, as will paper forms postmarked by the deadline.

Paper applications are available at the Napa County Elections office at 900 Coombs St. in downtown Napa, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, post offices, public libraries and other locations.

California residents may register to vote if they are U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, not adjudicated as mentally incompetent and not precluded because of certain criminal convictions. A person must re-register to vote after moving, changing names or changing political party preference.
