What's Open, Closed on MLK Day?
Mailboxes, schoolrooms and government offices are empty today, a federal holiday in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. But many Napa businesses are open as usual, and volunteers are needed for a playground improvement project.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday honoring the slain clergyman and civil rights activist who was born Jan. 15, 1929 and assassinated April 4, 1968.
The following are closed today:
- Schools and offices in the
- Post office windows
- County offices, city offices and
Supermarkets, most restaurants and retail shops and the VINE are keeping regular hours. Other businesses are open at the owner’s discretion: You can find contact information for every business and institution inside Napa city limits at napa.patch.com/places.
