Napa County Commission Taking Inventory on Groups to Reduce Gangs, Youth Violence

Inventory of resources will help identify gaps.

The Napa County Gang & Youth Violence Commission, a commission of the Board of Supervisors, is preparing an inventory of community programs and resources aimed at reducing gang activity and youth violence.

The Commission’s goal is to create a comprehensive report detailing the offerings in Napa County and identifying the gaps in services that may help young people resist gangs or avoid violence.

In an effort to ensure that each agency and organization in Napa County is represented, the Commission members created an Internet-based questionnaire and are asking that all agencies and organizations wishing to be included in the report complete the brief questionnaire, which can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/8S8L3PT.

The report will be submitted to the Napa County Board of Supervisors in accordance with the Napa County Gang and Youth Violence Master Plan, which was completed in 2011 and is available on the Napa County website at www.countyofnapa.org.

For additional information, please contact Commission member Melanie Fae Garrett at Melanie.fgarrett@gmail.com.  The deadline for completing the questionnaire is May 24, 2013.
