Nothing from Scott Sedgley? Well I hope he gets his info in.
Dan Monez September 07, 2012 at 05:15 PM
Those who did not bother to respond may have said more about their candidacy than those who did respond. Hmmm????
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) September 07, 2012 at 05:46 PM
Alfredo submitted his last night and we should have it live on the site later today. I will call Scott, who doesn't seem to have email. Bill Bopf and Mark van Gorder: Please check the spam filter in your email program and if you do not see a message from Patch, drop me a note at napa@patch.com so we can get your profiles online too.

I love how Doris is pretending she isn't a member of the Tea Party anymore.....
Belle (Orchid Lady) September 07, 2012 at 08:47 PM
No she isn't Alex. Here is how she listed her political info- "Party affiliation : Other Party affiliation : City Council is Non-Partisan Running for a: Local office Running for position: Napa City Council" All the other candidates listed either Republican, Democrat, or Independent. The only 'other' there is, IS the Tea Party because it's not a 'real' party, it's an "other". BUT she also reminds you that Napa City Council is -non-partisan. ;)

Mark van Gorder's campaign just checked in to say his profile has been submitted, so expect that soon along with Alfredo Pedroza's. I just need some help from Carlos to get the code.

Hi Louisa Was my responce to dan removed for some reason? Thanks Mike
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) September 08, 2012 at 12:35 AM
Hi Mike, I am not seeing that you posted a reply to Dan - it is not on any of my screens, and the only way a posted comment could disappear that completely would be if you deleted it yourself! Maybe our Content Management System (CMS) hiccupped and lost it? It's done far worse to me (entire articles gone) although usually it is pretty well-behaved.

The nerve of technology. Will repost
MICHAEL WILSON "Republican Kid" September 08, 2012 at 12:51 AM
I agree Dan Would like to Know Where Scott Sedgley stands on many issues.
Tom Davidson September 08, 2012 at 05:41 PM
Perhaps they said too much. You know how the Napa City Net-suposedly-work works, right ? Hmmm....campaigning......Hmmmm someone thought they were going to cleverly garner some votes and instead may have lost some.... Hmmmm....
Tom Davidson September 08, 2012 at 06:59 PM
So we have two former public safety officials running for office. The former-firefighter's mother dies, and the former-NPD-policeman attacks him for not updating his platform soon enough. That shows a high level of both being informed and compassionate. Here I was, wanting to vote for Mr. Monez, and this is what I get BEFORE he gets in office ? It's so Napa Style.
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) September 08, 2012 at 10:33 PM
I am confused by the comment from "Tom Davidson," which seems to indicate he thinks Dan Monez is one of the candidates. You'd need a time machine to vote for Dan, since he ran in 2010. Also, he ran for county supervisor, not city council, which is the office Scott is seeking and for which two seats are in play. A couple of tips for our newcomers who are used to a different standard: Comments make much more sense when they actually relate to the article at hand, and drumming up support for your political favorites by attacking others is not a productive strategy.
MICHAEL WILSON "Republican Kid" September 09, 2012 at 01:38 AM
I disagree with Tom Davidson. I did not find Dan M To be bashing scott. I think We want as much info on all running as we can get.
Tom Davidson September 09, 2012 at 06:00 PM
Yeah, I figured afterwards it wasn't going to read well. Especially with my sarcasm thrown in. I also assumed Mr. Monez was specifically talking about one candidate and not several different people, and for that I apologize. This patchy structure is really strange to navigate sometimes, but I'm glad I found this, uhh, thread, to clarify myself and to apologize to Mr. Monez (who, yes, did run in the past-and of course I should NEVER have associated him with other politicians who snipe at the victors in their races long after they've been sworn into office.). Regardless, even I knew that Mr. Sedgley's mother had died just from scanning local resources, I thought it was odd that nobody else bothered to know. Still. It's in the obits. I'm not making it up. But, yeah, maybe he just doesn't have e-mail. Yeah, that's gotta be it. Politics are always SO transparent that nobody's motives are ever questionable. But I wasn't attacking anybody. I AM kinda disapponted that it was more important to scold me than it was to verify the passing of poor Mr. Sedgley's mother (which I STILL haven't seen any mention of here and isn't THAT hard to verify). You wouldn't even need a TIME MACHINE ! I'm hoping that wasn't too offensive.... I guess there are priorities, and perhaps I've over-estimated this forum.

What about the people running for trustee at Napa Valley College - the college is in trouble and I would like to see what each proposes to do. Thanks
Belle (Orchid Lady) September 11, 2012 at 08:40 PM
Mamasan- have you tried this website called politify? I saw it the other day, and it is a tool to see who's policies will benefit you. It is secure and anonymous. But I think it is pretty cool. I put in my own income, and then I put in in different incomes to see what tax brackets benefited from who. I thought you'd like it. https://www.politify.com/
Mama San September 12, 2012 at 05:45 AM
the one I used asked to compare ideals and politically I am a Democrat and agree with President Obama. I also tried the ones with income.
