Napa Candidate Forum Focuses on Environment

Napa's seven city council candidates and two mayoral candidates will be quizzed on a plastic-bag ordinance and other environmental concerns at the Napa County Library tonight.

Which of Napa's candidates for mayor and city council would support a local ordinance banning plastic bags?

That's just one of the questions to which city residents can hear the answers at an "environmental forum" tonight at the Napa County Library.

Hosted by Friends of the Napa River, Get a Grip on Growth, Napa Chapter of the Sierra Club and Napa Valley CanDo, the forum will be moderated by former Napa County Planning Commissioner David Graves, a boardmember of Friends of the Napa River.

It's scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room and will begin with prepared questions, including the one about a plastic bag ordinance.

As time permits, according to the organizers, audience members will also be able to quiz the candidates.
