My Leafy Country View is Now Ugly Homes Nearby

A Napa resident's complaint about tree removal.

I have recently had a terrible experience with neighbors who cut down many common area trees, per city OK, and completely ruined my environment, tree screening, noise screen etc.

My beautiful backyard shared-greenspace trees were once lush and beautiful and have now all been chainsaw-massacred to a mulch pile. My leafy country view is now ugly homes nearby. It makes me sick.

It was OK'd by the city to an absentee landlord. The whole experience makes me want to move from Napa and the cozy place I just moved to.

When the massacre was going on (for about a week) I repeatedly phoned the city offices and they kept saying it was all approved and okayed and this was due process, but in the end the tree workers were hacks and the city really had no idea of what they were okaying despite my pleas to have them stop and their promises to come out and monitor the job by unlicensed workers.

I want to open this subject/discussion to others, share my unpleasant experience so that perhaps the city will correct their less than perfect ways on giving carte blanche to absentee homeowners who get these tree removal permits approved (with no overseeing of what they are actually approving which was blatant clearcutting by tree workers WITHOUT LICENSES).
