Napa County's District 2 race appears headed for a November runoff after none of the candidates garnered more than 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday's primary election.
Napa City Council members Mark van Gorder and Juliana Inman competed to unseat District 2 incumbent Supervisor Mark Luce, who was first elected to the board in 1996.
Luce garnered about 42 percent of the vote, or 1,795 votes, whereas van Gorder and Inman had 1263 and 1176 votes, respectively, or about 30 percent and 28 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results.
With only 87 votes separating van Gorder and Inman, it remains to be seen who will appear on the ballot along with Luce in November.
