Luce Leads as Election Results Trickle in

First few precincts reporting in race for supervisor.

Incumbent County Supervisor Mark Luce has a small lead in the race for the District 2 supervisor seat with the first few precincts reporting.

Luce has 1,795 votes (42.39%) as he leads two Napa City Council members. Mark van Gorder picked up 1,263 votes (29.83%) so far while Juliana Inman garnered 1,176 (27.78%) as the first set of results were released.

County Elections Office staff indicated this is the last ballot count of the evening, so check back tomorrow with Napa Patch for more complete results.

So the November election really IS going to be all about Napa Pipe, despite what the NVR editorial a couple of weeks ago opined...

Or maybe not -- since the developers have just gone back to the drawing board for their proposal; we'll have to see whether they bring it back before or after November. Since it's too close to call today ... Any pure guesses as to which of his two primary opponents will wind up facing Luce in five months?

It is showing a definite trend. I suspect the developers' return to the drawing board has as much to do with this election's outcome- they'd really like to know who will sit on the BOS, who will be voting as they decide how many units to cram together. And yes, today's results can't be seen as either a pro-growth or a pro-development mandate. It will be an interesting next few months.
