Inman Says She'll Run for Supervisor

The Napa city council member announced Friday she will seek the District 2 seat long held by Mark Luce -- but fellow council member Mark Van Gorder is running as well.

Napa architect and city council member Juliana Inman announced Friday she will run for Napa County's District 2 supervisorial seat in 2012.

District 2, which has long been represented by supervisor Mark Luce, includes much of west Napa excepting Browns Valley, as well as portions of north Napa both east and west of Highway 29.

The district's lines were recently redrawn to exclude Yountville, which is now part of supervisor Diane Dillon's District 4.

Luce was returning from a trip to Indonesia and unavailable for comment Friday.

Updated Friday, 6:30 p.m.: Inman's fellow council member Mark Van Gorder, who is also running for the District 2 seat, told the 's Kevin Courtney that "Juliana may be making it easier for Mark Luce" to keep District 2 by splitting his opposition between two challengers.
