Public meeting on EIR, master plan for HHSA campus

Napa County residents will get their next opportunity to hear more about and give their input on the planned renovations at the County’s Health and Human Services Agency Campus on Old Sonoma Road in the city of Napa. At an evening public meeting at the campus, County staff and consultants will present updates on the master planning process and solicit community input on the scope of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project.
“This is a vitally important project for the residents of Napa County,” said Health and Human Services Agency Director Randy Snowden. “We need to replace our aging and deteriorating facilities in order to continue to provide the best possible service to our clients, while also continuing to be a good neighbor and a community asset.”

At the meeting, staff and master plan architect TLCD Architecture will present an overview of the master planning process, including the opportunities for public input along the way. When complete, the Campus Master Plan will define the scope, scale and phasing of renovations or new construction on the current campus, which is bounded by Old Sonoma Road, Gesford and Walnut Streets. As part of the planning process, the County also will consider purchasing an undeveloped portion of the Napa Christian School property to the north to allow for expansion.

An initial study is available for public review on the County website and comments on the scope of the EIR may be submitted until Dec. 20. The draft project schedule calls for public review and comment of the draft EIR to take place in May or June of 2012. It also calls for a presentation of preliminary Master Plan concepts, with opportunity for public reaction and input, in February, and a Draft Master Plan review in May.
Those who are interested can find information, documents and updates on the project website atwww.NapaHHSAcampus.org.
