Downtown Traffic: One-Way? Two-Way? No Way?

Which way do you go on the topic of new traffic patterns for downtown's main numbered streets?

Several downtown Napa streets that have been one-way for half a century could become two-way again in the coming decade, according to a recent report, "Talk of two-way streets finds new momentum."

The article quotes some with on a return to two-way traffic is a good idea.

What do you think? Take our poll and have your say on the way the city should go on First Street.

I think that reverting the downtown streets to two-way will cause traffic jams. Every time a delivery truck or driver decides to stop, the traffic will be blocked. Also, many drivers will feel the need to attempt passing the stopped vehicle.

I am happy the city is thinking of changing the streets back to two way traffic. I live on Second Street and look forward to the traffic slowing down a bit. I am also glad because tourist will go straight downtown when they come off the freeway without getting lost. I hope there is plenty of street parking created for locals and tourists alike. It may be just what Napa needs to revitalize downtown and bring in new businesses.
