Calling All Napa County Purple Heart Veterans

A letter from Napa County Supervisor Diane Dillon invites Purple Heart veterans to be honored at a special ceremony with her and Congressman Mike Thompson, August 7 at the Veterans Home in Yountville.

As you may know, the recent redistricting of Napa County supervisor districts has placed the Yountville Veterans Home in Supervisorial District 3, which I represent. I am very pleased with the change and am proud to be representing the veterans at the Yountville Veterans Home.

While talking to veterans and researching veterans’ issues, I learned that the State of California was recently declared a Purple Heart State.  Therefore, I thought it would be fitting to hold a reception to honor all of the Purple Heart veterans in our County.

If you or a loved one is a Purple Heart veteran residing in Napa County, I hope you will join Congressman Mike Thompson and me at an upcoming reception to be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the Yountville Veterans Home, Member Services Center, Grant Hall, 100 California Drive, Yountville, California.

Medal recipients are welcome, as are their families and friends, even if the recipient is no longer living. Please RSVP by contacting Board of Supervisor’s Staff Assistant JoAnn Melgar at (707) 299-1478 or joann.melgar@countyofnapa.org.
