Organizers of the Napa 9/11 Memorial dedication ceremony have changed the time from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to 7 p.m.

"The time was changed to 7 p.m. so that more of the Napa community would be able to attend," said Robin Klingbeil, project coordinator. "Everyone is invited."

Wednesday's event represents the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on this country.

"This memorial stands as a tribute to honor those who perished that day and to symbolize the triumph of our human spirit," Klingbeil said.  "The many generous donations, volunteer work, and gifts of time and materials have made this memorial and garden possible."

The memorial, at 1075 Main St., Napa (near Kohl's department store), includes steel I-beams from the World Trade Center buildlings that were demolished in the attacks. After the I-beams were installed earlier this year, city crews have been working on landscaping and other refinements.
