Napa Woman Arrested for Drug High During Welfare Check

Estranged husband called cops after futile attempts to get her to answer the door when he was returning their kids.

A 27-year-old Napa woman was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances Monday after officers were dispatched to her home on Calaveras Court for a welfare check, according to the Napa Police Department.

Nancy Larios’ estranged husband called police after he said he was repeatedly calling and knocking at her door to return their children, and that she had not responded, police said.

Officers arrived, made numerous attempts to contact Larios, and, concerned for the safety, forced entry into her home. Police said Larios was located asleep in her bed, and on the nightstand was a glass smoking pipe with suspected methamphetamine in the bowl of the pipe.

Officers woke Larios, spoke to her, determined she displayed signs of being under the influence of drugs, and arrested and transported her to Napa County Department of Corrections.
