Woman Arrested After Alleged Hammer Attack

Police say the woman struck the father of her child several times with a hammer.

A woman was arrested in Napa on Sunday after she allegedly struck the father of her child several times with a hammer, according to police.

A witness contacted police around 11:40 a.m. to report seeing a woman hitting a man with a hammer and then fleeing, police said.

The suspect, Monique Joy Lalonde, 31, was located at her home in the 1200 block of Spruce Street.

Police said she initially told officers that she had been at the scene of the attack, but denied hitting the victim.

She was arrested after investigators determined she had allegedly struck the man multiple times in the face and leg, causing visible injuries, according to police.

Lalonde and the victim have a child together, police said.
