Weird News: An Exorcism, Gold Burglary and Squeegee Attack

A round-up of weird news stories from around the Bay Area this week.

They always say truth is stranger than fiction, and here at Patch, we see that every day as we cover the news around the Bay Area.

In today's Weird News round-up, we bring you an attempted exorcism that ends tragically, a man arrested on a search for gold at a popular restaurant and an assault at a gas station with a squeegee.

This week Karla Kuhl, 36, of El Sobrante, was convicted of one count of voluntary manslaughter for the killing of 68-year-old Patricia Medeiros in her San Pablo home last year.

The victim's lifeless body was found on the living room couch covered by a blanket, a kitchen chair, a statue of the Virgin Mary and a Bible.

Kuhl apparently drove to a nearby church where she disrobed and doused herself in holy water, the prosecutor said.

In Dublin, a pretty sleepy town by Bay Area standards, an argument at a gas station ends up with an attempted assault with a deadly weapon charge.

Two men got into an argument and one came after the other with a squeegee, striking the victim in the head and "blinding him with soap and water" for a moment.
