When officers of the Napa Police Department were dispatched to the area of York and "H" Street on Wednesday evening, on a resident's report of people in a car "doing drugs, they encountered two subjects sitting in a blue sedan.
The man and woman had been sitting in the four-door Ford for about 30 minutes, the reporting party said.
Officers contacted a female driver and a male passenger inside the described vehicle.
As the driver rolled down the window, several waves of suspected marijuana smoke came from the interior of the vehicle.
The male passenger was identified as Humberto D. Nieto, 25, of Napa. A records check revealed that Nieto was on felony probation for marijuana sales, and that he was on search and seizure.
A search of the vehicle, in the area where Nieto was sitting, resulted in officers finding a baggie containing suspected marijuana. Nieto was arrested and booked into Napa County Department of Correction for violation of probation.
