Suspected Meth Dealer Jailed in Napa

A warrant search allegedly turned up drugs, packaging materials and a scale at the north Napa home of Omar Avila Hernandez, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A north Napa man was busted for drugs after Napa Special Investigations Bureau agents served a search warrant at his home, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office announced this week.

About 3 p.m. Dec. 7, while searching Omar Avila Hernandez’s apartment in the 3400 block of Baxter Avenue, drug agents recovered about 22 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials and a scale, according to a media release.

Hernandez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of possession and sale of a controlled substance and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections, the sheriff's office said.

Nicholas Claymore Watter December 14, 2012 at 09:45 AM
Wow, another intellectually stimulating comment by "Republican Kid".
Lorie December 14, 2012 at 12:22 PM
The so called "controlled substances" are obviously OUT OF CONTROL! Who would control the [legal] fabrication, distribution and consumption of "meth"?
Scott Yeager December 14, 2012 at 02:49 PM
Michael your powers of deduction are breathtaking. So if it had been a white man you would have said "Wow another white guy dealing meth"?
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) December 14, 2012 at 04:40 PM
Tim, your feelings are understandable, but an f-bomb with an asterisk is still an f-bomb under our terms of service, which prohibit "masked profanity": http://napavalley.patch.com/terms. Want to give it another try without the expletives? Thanks for understanding.
MICHAEL WILSON "Republican Kid" December 14, 2012 at 06:05 PM
Scott I am simply pointing out how the drug war, Down in Mexico. Is spilling into our streets here in the United States. Yes White guys deal So do Black guys and every race. Last week I was excoriated for pointing this out. So let me be blunt Mexicans sell it. White guys steal copper to use it.
MICHAEL WILSON "Republican Kid" December 14, 2012 at 06:07 PM
This is why we have NSIB Thanks guys
MICHAEL WILSON "Republican Kid" December 14, 2012 at 06:09 PM
Nicholas It is what it is. I call it the way it was.
Gary Thompson December 14, 2012 at 07:06 PM
Wow - It's quite a blanket (and ignorant) statement to become racist against Mexicans. yes, there is a drug war in Mexico, but your racist outlook is quite disturbing. Drugs are sold by those who believe they can get away with it. It has nothing to do with race. Meth is cooked here in the states probably MORE than in Mexico. You say you "call it the way it was" - why don't you say, "you call it the way YOU see it - as YOUR opinion" -

Yeah Louisa, but you allow the Lord's name to used in vain in another post? Most media don't even allow that. HRM
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) December 14, 2012 at 08:49 PM
We're not most media. Although there a lot of us now: more than 970 Patch sites in 22 states and the District of Columbia.

I'm not jumping on board, I do enjoy this site very much and Louisa is very informative and polite. I was surprised to see yesterday in a comment, a woman described her preference in male organs and it went through (and is still up).
Unfiltered Steve Simoneau December 14, 2012 at 09:31 PM
Michael, got some news for you: Methamphetamine was in the U.S., cooked by white people, dealt by white people, and used by white people DECADES before anyone in Mexico had even heard of it. Not a new problem.
King Jarvis IV December 14, 2012 at 09:32 PM
Might does not make it right. You still haven't addressed why you have a double standard, as we have indicated above. You are grown, do what you want. HRM
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) December 14, 2012 at 09:38 PM
Did you have a question you wanted me to answer, Jarvis? Just ask, okay?
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) December 14, 2012 at 09:40 PM
Louise, yeccch, was that on the "Fat Girls" article? I don't have permission to moderate articles that weren't originally posted here, so I haven't been following the comments carefully; but if that one clearly violated the terms posted at napavalley.patch.com/terms, I can ask the posting editor to pull it. I apologize if you were offended.

P.S. And I am glad you like your Patch and me.

I wasn't offended. I was concerned if any minors viewed the article. I doubt it though. Much better things, in their minds, to view online than a news article - :)
King Jarvis IV December 14, 2012 at 11:56 PM
I will address this issue off site. HRM
Louisa Hufstader (Editor) December 15, 2012 at 12:25 AM
Jarvis - If you wish a response, please address it here. My email inbox overfloweth and I go on vacation shortly for the rest of the year. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.
