Two Arrests for Domestic Violence

Arrest information from the Napa Police Department does not indicate convictions.

Napa police arrested two men in separate incidents of reported domestic violence, according to shift activity logs released by the City of Napa Police Department.

The first report of assault came Friday at about 6 p.m., according to the log entry for the incident:

The female victim alleges that she and Joseph Anthony Martinez (12/19/92) argued near a residence in the 600 Block of Stonehouse Dr.

During the argument the victim alleges Martinez pushed her and caused damage to her vehicle.

Evidence was developed that supported the victim’s allegations. Martinez was contacted at a residence in the 600 block of Stonehouse and placed under arrest.

Martinez was booked into the for domestic battery and vandalism, police said.

Earrly Saturday morning, another reported assault resulted in an arrest, according to the police log entry:

On 01/28/12 about 0245 hours NPD Officers were dispatched to contact the victim in regards to an assault.

Upon contact with the victim, the Officers learned the suspect, Kareem Maher Azruei 22 years old of Napa, had argued with the victim.

The argument turned physical and Azruei slapped and choked the victim causing visible injury.

Azruei was on Felony and Misdemeanor Probation out of Napa County.

Azruei was located by NPD Officers at a residence in the 2600 block of First Street in Napa and arrested for Domestic Battery and Violation of Probation.

Azruel was booked at the Department of Corrections, police said.
