Two Arrested for Burglary After Struggle with Police

Officers used a Taser to subdue Sal Zaragoza, according to police. Arrest information from the City of Napa Police Department does not indicate a conviction.

A man and a woman were arrested early Saturday on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property, and the man faces further charges of assaulting and threatening a police officer, according to a shift activity log released by the :

On 10-28-11, the Napa Police Department Patrol Division investigated a residential burglary in the 2100 block of Granada St. During the investigation, Officers developed information on two possible suspects.

The first suspect was Sal Zaragoza who resides in the 1100 block of Sylvia Ct. The second suspect was Karina Castillo who resides in the 1100 block of Kansas Ave. Investigating officers later authored a search warrant for Zaragoza’s and Castillo’s residence.

On 10-29-11 at approximately 0845 hours, Patrol Officers executed a search warrant at Sal Zaragoza’s residence in the 1100 block of Sylvia Ct. Officers encountered Zaragoza who was concealed in a bedroom.

During the encounter Zaragoza failed to comply with lawful orders and assaulted an officer. Officers deployed a Taser and physically subdued Zaragoza. Karina Castillo was also located at the residence.

A search of the residence revealed stolen property taken from the residential burglary in the 2100 block of Granada St.
