Tractor-Trailer Snafu Snarls Traffic in South Napa

Hwy. 29 blocked at Old Sonoma Road overpass.

A tractor-trailer hauling a manufactured home got stuck Tuesday morning at the Old Sonoma Road crossover, snarling traffic in South Napa, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP spokeswoman Anna Paulson said the situation occurred due to the tractor-trailer exceeding height restrictions on the overpass.

Paulson said the initial calls came just before 11 a.m.

A Sigalert (significant traffic impact) was issued at 11:28 a.m.

Traffic lanes were cleared at 11:50 a.m. but witnesses said traffic continued to be gridlocked in the area through the noon hour.
