"Town Hall Meeting" on Underage Drinking Announced

From the Napa Police Department.

A Town Hall meeting on underage drinking will be held May 17 between 5:30-8:00PM at , 1600 Myrtle Ave., in the Multi-Purpose Room.

This event is being co-led by local youth and hosted by the Alcohol and Drug Division Friday Night Live Program with support from the Catalyst Coalition.

Join us to learn about the problem of underage drinking in Napa and the latest research on what works to prevent youth alcohol use.

Youth will help lead the conversation about what influences youth drinking, what happens when youth drink and how to get involved with local underage drinking prevention efforts.

This is an opportunity for families, community members, teachers, officials and youth to discuss this issue and learn how they can be a part of the solution to the problem of underage drinking.

Free refreshments and snacks will be provided and additonal food for sale through Valley Oak High. The money made on food sales will be used to support youth attendance at a statewide Youth Leadership Conference in September of 2011.
