Tip-A-Cop Breakfast Today at Black Bear Diner

Napa Black Bear Diner (303 Soscol Avenue), Friday, June 14, 2012, 7:00 am to 11:00 am

Members of several Napa County law enforcement agencies plan a joint fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Northern California by holding a “Tip-A-Cop” event this morning the Napa Black Bear Diner, 303 Soscol Ave., Napa.

The event started at 7 a.m. and runs through 11 a.m.

This is part of the fundraising efforts by local law enforcement officers in preparation for the annual law enforcement torch run, and the Special Olympics of Northern California, which will be in June of this year at UC Davis University.

Special Olympics Northern California is a free year-round sports training and competition program for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. More than 15,700 athletes compete in 154 competitions throughout the region in 12 sports. This requires the extraordinary support and time of 14,370 volunteers and volunteer coaches. Financial support comes almost exclusively from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations.

Uniformed officers will team with regular wait staff to wait on tables. In addition to the tips customers leave their respective servers, a donation may be made to the Special Olympics; 100% of all “Tip-A-Cop” donations will go to help fund the needs of the Special Olympics.
