Teen's Joyride Ends in Arrest

Teen crashes his brother's Camaro into another car during joyride.

A 19-year-old Napa man went to jail this afternoon after allegedly taking his brother's Chevrolet Camaro for a joyride.

Police went to the intersection of Kansas Avenue at Kansas Court in response to a report of a non-injury traffic accident. Officers arrived and found two vehicles in the roadway at the entrance of the court.

One of the vehicles was a silver, small 4-door car and the other was a gold Camaro. Police spoke with Eddie Sanchez, 19, who admitted to driving the Camaro without his brother's permission, according to police.

"Sanchez went on to say that the vehicle belonged to his brother and that he had taken the car without his brother’s permission," a police press release stated.

An officer contacted Sanchez’s brother, via telephone, who stated his brother did not have permission to have the vehicle and that he must have gained access into his locked bedroom in order to access the keys, the release stated.
