Teenager Beat, Imprisoned Mother, Police Say

He was arrested Thursday and booked at Juvenile Hall, according to this police report. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

A 17-year-old Napa boy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of false imprisonment, attempted robbery and battery, according to a shift activity log released by the :

Officers responded to the 100 block of Valley Oak Drive for a call of a battery. 

An investigation revealed the 17 year old son had battered his mother.

The son struck the victim multiple times over the course of two days, held her against her will and attempted to take her property.

The victim was able to escape and summon the police today.

The teenager was booked at the , police said.

Also Thursday, a 32-year-old Napa man was arrested for resisting an officer by force, violation of probation and possession of narcotic paraphernalia, according to the police log:

Officers were summoned to the 1400 block of Hemlock Street by family members regarding a subject on drugs. 

Three officers arrived and met with the suspect, Manuel Alvarez Jr, 32 years. 

Alvarez is on felony probation and admitted to having a methamphetamine pipe on his person. 

When officers attempted to arrest Alvarez, he violently resisted, resulting in minor injuries to two officers. 

Officers were able to overcome his resistance and take him into custody.
