Teen Badly Injured in Hit and Run

Police are searching for the motorist who struck the boy. From the Napa Police Department.

A teenage boy was critically injured in a hit and run collision Friday in the area of Pear Tree Lane and Villa Lane, according to a press release from the :

On October 14, 2011 at about 11:26 p.m. NPD officers were dispatched to a report of a subject bleeding from the head.  Upon their arrival, NPD officers located a 17-year-old Hispanic male, Napa resident, lying in the roadway bleeding from his head. 

The victim was non-responsive and to with life threatening injuries. A witness at the scene stated he found the victim in the roadway and called the police. A nearby, parked SUV was located with damage to the windshield.

The Napa Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the apparent collision. A preliminary investigation determined that the SUV was parked and the victim was somehow thrown onto the vehicle causing his injuries. No witnesses were located in the area.

The investigation is ongoing and witnesses are encouraged to contact Officer Helfrich at 257-9223.
