"Suspicious Object" Investigated in Downtown Napa

Update: Streets may reopen around 10:30, according to a dispatcher.

8:55 a.m. via Bay City News Service:

Police have shut down First Street near Randolph Street in downtown Napa to investigate a report of a suspicious object, a police dispatcher said.

The area is expected to remain closed for two hours, the dispatcher said around 8:30 a.m.

At 7:30 a.m. the Napa County Sheriff's Office issued the following alert:

Per Napa Police Department: Please avoid downtown Napa due to discovery of suspicious object. 1st Street and Coombs/Randolph Street areas in downtown Napa are closed until further notice. The Sheriff's Department Hazardous Device Team is enroute. There is no ETA at this time for the re-opening of 1st, Coombs, and Randolph Streets.
